Blueberries typically begin to ripen on our farm sometime in July. It always depends on the weather! A warm, sunny spring will deliver an early crop, and a cold wet one will delay it. Check the website or our Facebook page, or call us early in July for more accurate information.

This year we have Duke and Draper (Duke’s later cousin) available in our “no spray” program. We also grow Draper and Liberty in our conventional commercial production fields.

This year we will have U-Pick Duke and Draper. We will ask you to sanitize your hands and use our clean containers in the field. You are welcome to use your own containers to take your berries home, or you can purchase clean boxes from us.

Yes! All the blueberries we sell come from our own farm. Our family do the work ourselves, or directly supervise the people who help us, so we can stand behind every pound we sell — fresh or frozen.

No, but we do our best to reduce your exposure to pesticides. We use organic sprays during the growing season, and organic methods like compost fertilizing alongside modern soil science.

We don’t claim to be organic, but we do our best to limit your exposure to chemical pesticides. We do our best to maintain healthy plants that produce high quality berries using the least amount of chemical pesticides. In our “no spray” fields, it is our practice that from the beginning of the blossom season until all the fruit is picked, we apply only organic sprays.

Pruning maintains the health of the bushes over their 50-year lifespan, through renewal and shaping. It removes old branches and positions the fruit toward the top of the bush where it gets the most sunshine and air circulation, which makes for sweeter fruit.
